Our Commitment to Diversity
The Simons Center for the Social Brain (SCSB) at MIT is committed to bringing researchers together from all backgrounds and perspectives to work on our central mission – to understand the neural mechanisms underlying social cognition and behavior, and to translate this knowledge into better diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorders (ASD).
The mission of SCSB demands a collaborative environment and a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and justice. With neurodiversity at its core, SCSB aims to advance the vision of the Institute Community and Equity Office and MIT’s Strategic Action Plan for Belonging, Achievement and Composition.
For our postdoctoral fellowship program, we strongly encourage applications from underrepresented and underserved backgrounds. For our Colloquium and Lunch series, we are committed to reflect and enhance the diversity of our research community.
We have joined hands with the Departments of Brain and Cognitive Sciences and Biology to enhance access of undergraduates to research by hosting students through the MIT Summer Research Program (MSRP).
As a center that draws on researchers across the institute, and especially from building 46 (BCS, MIBR and PILM), we actively seek opportunities to advance diversity in our targeted project teams.
